Tour Details & Experience
We run half-day, full-day, overnight, and multi-day guided tours through the Otways. Each tour is designed to showcase the best tracks, roads, and scenery of our region.
Expect a mix of sealed roads, gravel tracks, forest trails, and occasional technical sections. Each ride is matched to the group’s ability.
Not necessarily — we cater to beginners through to experienced riders. Our guides adjust the pace and difficulty to suit the group.
We keep group sizes small (typically 6–10 guest riders) to ensure safety and a personal experience.
Yes! We can design a ride around your schedule, skill level, and interests.
Motorcycles & Gear
We currently offer a well-maintained fleet of CFMoto 450MT adventure motorcycles.
Yes — many riders choose to bring their own. Your bike must be:
- Fully roadworthy and registered
- In good mechanical condition
- Fitted with suitable tyres for mixed terrain (adventure, dual-sport, or off-road preferred)
- Arrive to day 1 with a full tank of fuel, additional fuel will be provided as required by OAM
No — due to the wide range of shapes and sizes, we do not supply riding gear. Riders must bring their own.
Minimum required gear:
- A road-use approved dirt or adventure helmet (no open-face helmets)
- Long pants and long sleeves
- Sturdy riding boots (MX or adventure/road boots). Work boots are not suitable for off-road riding.
- Motorbike Gloves
Important: Helmets must be clean, damage-free, and road legal. Otway Adventure Motorcycles reserves the right to exclude riders if a helmet is considered unsafe.
All hire bikes come with handguards, engine protection, and tool kits. Guides carry first aid kits and have radio communication between lead rider and sweep vehicle.
Accommodation & Meals
For multi-day tours, yes. We partner with King Parrot Cottages — options include cabins and camping.
Yes — most of our tours include meals as part of the experience. We support local cafes, pubs, and use our own camp catering depending on the tour style.
- Morning tea (“roadside smoko”) snacks and drinks are provided during the ride.
- Lunch stops at local pubs or cafes are at the rider’s own expense, allowing flexibility and choice.
- Evening meals back at King Parrot Cottages are fully catered and included in the tour cost.

Location & Logistics
We’re located at King Parrot in Pennyroyal, Victoria — about 1.5 hours from Geelong and 2 hours from Melbourne. Directions provided on booking.
We can help arrange transfers from Avalon or Tullamarine airports on request.
Yes, you can leave your car or trailer safely at our base while on tour.
Day rides usually start around 9:00 am and return mid-afternoon. Multi-day tour schedules vary.

Yes, a deposit secures your spot, with balance due before the ride.
We understand that plans can change, and we aim to be as fair and transparent as possible.
- Cancellations made more than 30 days before your scheduled tour are eligible for a full refund, minus the deposit.
- Cancellations made within 30 days of the tour date are non-refundable.
- In the event of exceptional circumstances (such as serious illness, injury, or family emergency), we may offer a credit or partial refund at our discretion. Please contact us as soon as possible if this applies to you.
Yes! They make a perfect present for the rider in your life.
Safety & Requirements
Yes, a valid motorcycle licence (appropriate to the bike you ride) is required.
A moderate level of fitness is recommended — rides can be long days in the saddle.
We ride in most conditions, but safety is the priority. Tours may be rescheduled if conditions are unsafe.
You are responsible for your own travel and personal insurance. Hire bike damage cover insurance is available as an extra on the day.
Support & Extras
Yes — a vehicle carries luggage, tools, and supplies.
Non-riding guests are most welcome to join the experience! However, due to limited space in the support vehicle, we can only accommodate one non-rider per group for transport during the day.
That said, non-riding partners are encouraged to stay with the riding group at King Parrot Cottages and enjoy everything the Otways has to offer — including beautiful walking trails, waterfalls, local sightseeing, and the stunning Great Ocean Road. They can then rejoin the group each evening to relax, unwind, and share in the day’s stories.
If you have a group with multiple non-riders, please get in touch — we’re happy to explore custom tour options where possible.
Yes — many of our tours include informal coaching and tips along the way. (we are not qualified instructors but we will lean on our decades of experience to give you any tips and pointers that may be relevant)
Yes! We encourage all our guests to take their time to soak up the views and capture the moments to share with everyone later.
